For spring break this year, I am lucky enough to have my mom fly down to the east coast to celebrate with me! She got here late Wednesday night so on Thursday morning we enjoyed brunch on River Street in Savannah at a place called Huey's on the River. It was pretty good, they have a New Orleans theme and their beignets were pretty good! I've never had one before so I couldn't compare it to one from the real New Orleans. Friday morning, St Patricks Day, aka the craziest day of the year in Savannah, (Savannah has the second largest St. Patrick's Day parade in the U.S. after New York) we left early in the morning to escape the shutting down of the city and drove 3 hours to St. Augustine. St. Augustine is the oldest city in America! We walked down historic St. George street which reminded me of St. George, Utah and I shed a tear because home and stuff. It was filled with pastel walls and so many ice cream shops I was pretty sure I had died and gone straight to heaven. We also explored a fort called Castillo de San Marcos, which is a National Park. Today, March 18th, Westley made me chocolate chip pancakes for breakfast and then we spent all day at the beach! It was a dream! Westley and I made an amazing sand castle and some random people had us pose next to it and took our picture for themselves!! The lady said "you'll be on facebook!" HA! I love people sometimes. So far it's been a very relaxing vacation and I'm so happy finals are over! Enjoy these pictures I took over the last couple days!
